The Business Planning Group's approach
to management consulting is based on three fundamental premises:
- That strategic management and business planning is now
fundamental to the survival and growth of all organisations. That
success in planning and implementation requires a flexibility of planning
approach - to mould the diversity of business planning/improvement processes
to the needs of particular organisations.
- The Business Planning Group does
not engage in the blind application of 'management fashions' which ignore
the specific needs of each organisation and the fundamental elements
of good management practice.
- That long term success in business is best achieved through
the rigorous application of a process of continuing improvement - creating
and building on successive cycles of planned management improvements
which allow the organisation to change in a controlled way, thus maximising
prospective benefits, while minimising risks and costs.
Our approach to the provision of consulting support to business
planning and management improvement is based on the following approaches:
-
The careful identification of specific customer requirements,
together with application of the best possible consulting staff to
meet those requirements.
-
We have developed, and are continuously developing and
improving, our range of written methodologies for strategic and operational
planning, sales management, marketing management, human resource management,
and other key areas of the functional management of a business.
-
The transfer of our planning techology, methodologies
and skills to our customers to assist them in building their longer
term business capabilities.
Our clients fhave the opportunity to acquire and improve
their knowledge of the process and practical skills of planning, and
to apply these skills in developing their own strategic and operational
plans under our guidance. This process delivers 'lifetime' benefits
to all those involved in the planning process.
-
Our 'open structure' approach to the development of
business plans, and our use of extensive written methodology, will
enhance the development of a 'team culture' in your organisation.
We are skilled in the process of 'business mentoring'
as the basis of installing business improvement processes, and in
the development and implementation phases of strategic/operational
planning assignments.
These mentoring proceses are collaborative efforts between
the consultants and the client management including nominated key
staff. Thus, at every stage, all participating members of the client
organisation are 'on board' and develop both individual and collective
'ownership' of the plan that is developing.
-
We are not simply 'white paper consultants'. Based on
the extensive line management experience of our Group consultants,
we are especially skilled in the operational implementation of business
plans. In plain terms, we are very experienced in assisting a management
team to 'make it happen'.
-
The development of long term relationships with clients
to ensure that we really understand changing customer needs and can
provide the continuing support that the enterprise requires.
-
We make a substantial investment in continuing research
to development into all relevant areas of new and practical developments
in management theory and practice and other areas of professional
competence - to keep improving our own knowledge, skills and intellectual
property, which we can therefore transfer on to our clients.
The Business Planning Group has developed
an extensive and comprehensive management & planning methodology,
which provides a 'planning roadmap' that improves the time efficiency,
quality and thoroughness of the planning process.
Our approach incorporates a structured set of planning
principles, associated processes and supporting documentation covering
all aspects of the planning process. This 'planning tookit' enables
an assignment to proceed with maximum flexibility and cost effectiveness,
thus providing numerous benefits to our clients.
